Reliance
...to make the creature [the flesh] something is to make it stand between thee and me, so that I do not walk humbly and holily.
Whenever I think that I can in my flesh do anything to serve God I make my flesh a stmblingblock to true holiness, for then I am depending on the flesh instead of on His Spirit.
