O God, it is amzing that men can talk so much
about man's power and goodness,
whe, if thou didst not hold us back every
moment we would be devils incarnate.
This, by bitter experience, thou hast taught me
concerning myself.

Christ Alone
O God,
Thy main plan, and the end of they will
is to make Christ glorious and beloved
in heaven
where He is now ascended,
where one day all the elect will behold His glory
and love and glorify Him for ever...
Here, it is my duty
to be as Christ to this world,
to do what He would do,
to live as He would live,
to walk in love and meekness;
then would He be known,
then would I have peace in death.
Thy main plan, and the end of they will
is to make Christ glorious and beloved
in heaven

where one day all the elect will behold His glory
and love and glorify Him for ever...

The Valley of Vision
Let me find thy light in my darkness,
thy life in my death,
thy joy in my sorrow,
thy grace in my sin,
thy riches in my poverty,
thy glory in my valley.
thy life in my death,
thy joy in my sorrow,
thy grace in my sin,
thy riches in my poverty,
thy glory in my valley.

Future Blessings
May we know the blessedness of men
whose strength is true,
and in whose hearts are the highways
to heaven.
whose strength is true,
and in whose hearts are the highways
to heaven.

The Gift of Gifts
O Source of all good,
What shall I render to thee for the gift of gifts,
thine own dear Son, begotten, not created,
my Redeemer, proxy, surety, substitute,
his self-emptying incomprehensible,
his infinity of love beyond the heart's grasp.
Herein is wonder of wonders:
he came below to raise me above,
was born like me that I might become like Him.
What shall I render to thee for the gift of gifts,
thine own dear Son, begotten, not created,
my Redeemer, proxy, surety, substitute,
his self-emptying incomprehensible,
his infinity of love beyond the heart's grasp.
Herein is wonder of wonders:
he came below to raise me above,
was born like me that I might become like Him.

God's Good Pleasure
Help us to approach thee clothed with humility,
for vanity, forwardness, insensibility,
disorderly affection, backwardness to duty,
proneness to evil are in our hearts.
for vanity, forwardness, insensibility,
disorderly affection, backwardness to duty,
proneness to evil are in our hearts.

God Honoured
The sea, dry land, winter cold, summer heat,
morning light, evening shade are full of thee,
and thou givest me them richly to enjoy.
morning light, evening shade are full of thee,
and thou givest me them richly to enjoy.
The Mediator
May we derive relief from his sufferings
without ceasing to abhor sin,
or to long after holiness;
feel the double efficacy of his blood,
tranquallising and cleansing our consciences;
delight in his service as well as his sacrifice
be constrained by his love
to live not to ourselves but to him;
cherish a grateful and cheerful disposition,
not murmuring or repining
if our wishes are not indulged,
or because some trials are blended
with our enjoyments,
But, sensible in our desert,
and impressed with the number and greatness
of thy benefits,
may we bless and praise thee at all times.

Man's Great End
Lord of All Being,
There is one things that deserves my greatest care,
that calls forth my ardent desires,
That is, that I may answer the great end for which
I am made-
to glorify thee who hast given me being,
and to do all the good I can for my fellow men;
Verily, my life is not worth having
if it be not improved for this noble purpose.

The Gospel
Let us as Christians fill our various situations
in life,
escape the snares to which they expose us,
discharge the duties that arise from our
circumstances,
enjoy with moderation their advantages,
improve with diligence their usefulness,
And may every place and company we are in be benefited by us
in life,
escape the snares to which they expose us,
discharge the duties that arise from our
circumstances,
enjoy with moderation their advantages,
improve with diligence their usefulness,
And may every place and company we are in be benefited by us

God Enjoyed
I bless thee that thou hast made me capable
of knowing thee, the author of all being,
of resembling thee, the perfection of all excellency,
of enjoying thee, the source of all happiness.
of knowing thee, the author of all being,
of resembling thee, the perfection of all excellency,
of enjoying thee, the source of all happiness.

Divine Mercies
Thou Eternal God,
Thin is suprassing greatness, unspeakable
goodness, super-abundant grace;
I can as soon count the sands of ocean's 'lip'
as number thy favours towards me;
I know but a part, but that part exceeds all praise...
But, O, how I mourn my sin, ingratititude, vileness,
the days that add to my guilt...
Yet still I live, and fly repenting to thy outstreched
arms;
thou will not case me off, for Jesus brings me near,
thou wilt not condemn me, for He died in my stead,
thou wilt not mark my mountains of sin,
for He levelled all.

The Giver
Help us not only to receive him but to
walk in him,
commune with him,
follow his as dear children,
imperfect, but still pressing forward,
not complaining of labour, but valuing rest,
not murmuring under trials, but thankful for our state.
And by so doing let us silence the ignorance
of foolish men.

And by so doing let us silence the ignorance

The All Good
My God,
rejoicing, how good is He who gives them,
and can withdraw them;
That blessedness does not lie so much
in receiving good from and in thee,
but in holding forth thy glory and virtue;
Thou hast helped me to see,
that whatever good be in honour andrejoicing, how good is He who gives them,
and can withdraw them;
That blessedness does not lie so much
in receiving good from and in thee,
but in holding forth thy glory and virtue;

The Great God
O FOUNTAIN OF ALL GOOD,
Destroy in me every lofty thought,
Break pride to pieces and scatter it to the winds,
Annihilate each clinging shred of
self-righteousness,
Implant in me true lowliness of spirit,
Abse me to self-loathing and self-abhorrence,
Open in me a fount of penitential tears,
Break me, then bind me up;
Thus will my heart be a prepared dwelling
for my God;
Destroy in me every lofty thought,
Break pride to pieces and scatter it to the winds,
Annihilate each clinging shred of
self-righteousness,
Implant in me true lowliness of spirit,
Abse me to self-loathing and self-abhorrence,
Open in me a fount of penitential tears,
Break me, then bind me up;
Thus will my heart be a prepared dwelling
for my God;
God All-Sufficient
We are weary, give us rest,
ignorant, make us wise unto salvation,
helpless, let thy strength be made perfect
in our weakness,
poor and needy, bless us with Christ's
ungracefully riches,
perplexed and tempted, let us travel on
unchecked, undismayed,
knowing that thou hast said,
"I will never leave thee nor forsake thee."
Blessed be thy name.
ignorant, make us wise unto salvation,

poor and needy, bless us with Christ's

God the All
O God Whose will conquers all,
There is no comfort in anything apart from enjoying Thee
and being engaged in they service;
Thou art All in all, and all enjoyments are what to me thou makest them, and no more.
I rejoice to think that all things are at the disposal, and it delights me to leave them there.
There is no comfort in anything apart from enjoying Thee
and being engaged in they service;
Thou art All in all, and all enjoyments are what to me thou makest them, and no more.
I rejoice to think that all things are at the disposal, and it delights me to leave them there.
True Christianity
Let us judge our Christianity,
not only by our dependence upon Jesus,
but by our love to him,
our conformity to him,
our knowledge of him.
not only by our dependence upon Jesus,
but by our love to him,
our conformity to him,
our knowledge of him.

Before Sleep
May our conscious be clear, our hearts pure,
our sleep sweet.
And with the innumerable company who neither
slumber or rest
we join in ascribing blessing, honour,
glory and power
to the Lamb upon the throne,
for ever and ever.
our sleep sweet.
And with the innumerable company who neither
slumber or rest
we join in ascribing blessing, honour,
glory and power
to the Lamb upon the throne,
for ever and ever.

Faith in Prayer
Give me unwavering faith
that supplications are never in vain,
that if I seem not to obtain my petitions
I shall have larger, richer answers,
surpassing all that I ask or think.
Unsought, thou hast given me
the greatest gift, the person of thy Son,
and in him thou wilt give me all I need.
that supplications are never in vain,
that if I seem not to obtain my petitions
I shall have larger, richer answers,
surpassing all that I ask or think.
Unsought, thou hast given me
the greatest gift, the person of thy Son,
and in him thou wilt give me all I need.
God Creator and Controller
When we are tempted to wander,
hedge up our way,
excite us in the abhorance of sin,
wean us from this present evil world.
hedge up our way,
excite us in the abhorance of sin,
wean us from this present evil world.

Bounty
Let us live out of this world as to its spirit,
maxims, manners,
but live in it as the sphere of our action and usefulness;
May we be alive to every call of duty,
accepting without question
thy determination of our circumstances
and our service.
maxims, manners,
but live in it as the sphere of our action and usefulness;
May we be alive to every call of duty,
accepting without question
thy determination of our circumstances
and our service.

God over all
May the Holy Scriptures
govern every part of our lives,
and regulate the discharge of all of our duties,
so that we may adorn the doctrine
in all things.
govern every part of our lives,
and regulate the discharge of all of our duties,
so that we may adorn the doctrine
in all things.

In Prayer
In prayer I can place all my concerns in thy hands,
to be entirely at thy disposal,
having no will or interest of my own.
In prayer I can intercede for my friends, ministers,
sinners, the church, thy kingdom to come,
with greatest freedom, ardent hopes,
as a son to his father,
as a lover to the beloved.
to be entirely at thy disposal,
having no will or interest of my own.
In prayer I can intercede for my friends, ministers,
sinners, the church, thy kingdom to come,
with greatest freedom, ardent hopes,
as a son to his father,
as a lover to the beloved.

The Teacher
Give us a closer abiding in Jesus
that we may
bring forth more fruit,
have a deeper sense of our obligations to him,
that we may surrender all, have a fuller joy,
that we may serve him more completely.
that we may
bring forth more fruit,
have a deeper sense of our obligations to him,
that we may surrender all, have a fuller joy,
that we may serve him more completely.

First Day Morning: Worship
[On the Lord’s Day]
Be a sanctuary to all who cannot come,
forget not those who never come,
And do bestow upon us
benevolence towards our dependents,
forgiveness toward our enemies,
peaceableness toward our neighbours,
openness towards our fellow-Christians.
Be a sanctuary to all who cannot come,
forget not those who never come,
And do bestow upon us
benevolence towards our dependents,
forgiveness toward our enemies,
peaceableness toward our neighbours,
openness towards our fellow-Christians.
